2. Running the printer driver by running these commands in the shell, then press enter:

user@host:~/Desktop$ sh hplip-3.11.1.run
3. Select the Automatic install mode
4. Verify your Linux Distribution - Ubuntu 10.10
5. Enter 'y' to enable support for parallel connected printers.
6. Enter Your root/Superuser User Password
7. Continues, the driver installer will now detect what dependencies your system will need to install before installing HPLIP.
Please note: Any package manager clean up steps will be ran. These are executed to try and minimize any potential package manager problems.
8. Download and Install Any Missing Dependencies
9. './configure' prepares HPLIP for install as well as your system is verified to have all the required dependencies for HPLIP;
'make' is then executed. Make compiles ("builds") HPLIP for your system
'make install' is the actual install procedure, this step is where HPLIP is actually being installed to your system.10. Using 'hp-setup' to configure your printer
1. Select the printer connection type, USB, Network/Ethernet/Wireless or others
2. Select the HP printer from discovered printer products
3. Select the appropriate PPD file (driver) for your printer.
11. The rest is easy, just follow to complete the printer setup process.
